Enjoy a ride in the name of wonder and excitement, from 429 meters of altitude in Tirano to over 2,000 meters of Bernina mountain area, through Engadine valley. Sit down, take a seat on the wagon, take a look at the train schedule for any stops … get ready to go! The Rhaetian Railway arrives in Sankt Moritz through the Val Poschiavo and the Bernina Pass, following a path that for its beauty and boldness is considered among the most interesting in the world, as to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.

The Bernina Express runs in just over four hours, a railway line of 145 km in total, with a path to natural fit without the use of any rack system. The route of the Bernina Express is of particular interest also from an engineering and architectural point of view, since it includes a total of 55 tunnels and covered galleries, 196 viaducts and bridges, high slope sections that cover large differences in height. Spiral tunnels, the Albula famous tunnel and the viaduct between Buzz and Campocologno are among the most interesting engineering works. In Le Prese, for about 1 km, the railway runs on roads and vehicles are often forced to stop to let the train pass in; in some places the cars touch the walls of the houses that face the street. Passing through the Morteratsch station, which is located in the valley of the same glacier, you can see the summit of Piz Bernina (4049 m) and its spectacular and unique scenery in its magnificent and immaculate grandeur. You will then arrive at St. Moritz, the pearl of the Upper Engadine, which is located on the left bank of the Inn, overlooking the lake of the same name in a wide sunny valley that will amaze you for its vast plains and its unique natural charm.
