Within the complex of the Palace of Venaria, in the eighteenth-century stables spaces designed by Benedetto Alfieri, the conservation and restoration center “La Venaria Reale” – Institute for Higher Education and Research for the preservation of cultural heritage, has been founded in 2006. Its main purpose is the education and research on artistic restoration. Thanks to the agreement signed with the University of Turin, the master degree was established in order to train qualified restorers in a scientific setting, combining technical skills with historical and scientific disciplines. The methodology integrates the restorers skills with historians and scientific culture. The result of the restoration is in fact a multidisciplinary approach on art masterpieces.
The restorers of the center and students of the degree course accompany visitors on a privileged path through which guests can know methods and processes of a fascinating work that takes place between art and science. Know the Venaria in a more direct and exclusive point of view: a journey in the world of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
