FAI – FONDO AMBIENTE ITALIANO
The smallest historical public theatre in the world, 71 sq. metres( first performance 1891).
In 1890, an engineer called Biagini donated his barn to be used to build a theatre in Vetriano which at that time had a population of 400 people. A village society worked on its construction. It was made up of 18 people who each deposited a down payment of two lire and then fifty cents per month until the work was completed.
The "teatrino" became a very important cultural centre for the village and the people were rightly very proud of it. During the post second World War period, the theatre started to fall into decline until a share of the ownership was ceded to the Town Council in 1983. Restructuring work was interrupted almost immediately and the building became unfit for use. In 1997 the Biagini inheritors donated their share of ownership of the theatre to the FAI, and a year later, restructuring work was taken up again following the project offered by the architect Guglielmo Mozzoni. The "teatrino was officially reopened on the 28th September 2002.
We suggest this ITALIAN HIDDEN BEAUTY - to be preserved through FAI - in all our itineraries including Pisa-Square of Miracles, Florence and Five Lands Tours.

The city of Lucca, in Tuscany, is considered one of the major tourist destinations in Italy. Located in a strategic place to visit cities like Pisa, Siena and Florence, offers the possibility to quickly reach areas such as the Garfagnana mountains or the beaches of Versilia. The hills surrounding the city of extraordinary beauty, not only for the presence of forest and fertile hillsides planted with vines and olive trees with great skill, but because the whole country is dotted with medieval villages, ruins of castles, towers and fortifications tell his story, a story also of territorial disputes, battles and looting.
