WILD ASIA - MALAYSIAN SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

Wild Asia is a Malaysian-based social enterprise working to support environmental and social initiatives in Asia. We have been online since 1998. We have grown over the years but our focus has stayed the same innovating and working to solve the problems that impact on our wild places. We have been part of a growing force in Asia to increase awareness and appreciation for the environment, and communicating the importance of conservation, not only of the natural wild places of Asia, but also of those communities and livelihoods that are dependent upon it.

Social Enterprise

Wild Asia is a social enterprise, a legal organization aiming to inspire and create positive social and environmental change. Unlike charities, we do not depend on donations but derive our income through the services we provide and the products we sell.

Some of our initiatives include; Responsible Tourism Initiative, Biodiversity Series, Sustainable Agriculture Initiative, Natural Corridor Initiative, Sustainable Island Programme and other corporate social responsibility engagements.

Although we do receive grants for our work, our core income is derived by providing advisory or consulting services:

  • By working under the banner of global sustainability programs, like Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), we assist companies understand, check progress and develop solutions to meet these requirements.
  • As an experienced team of social and environmental experts, we also find ourselves providing consulting services to help NGOs, businesses and corporations, to assess, research, plan, and implement innovative environmental and conservation programs.
  • Finally, what we learn we share in the form of training workshops or programs that help build capacity of corporations from decision makers to the "factory floor" in order to help realize a long term program towards sustainability.
