In 1872 the villa, in the neoclassical style, was sold and since then it has formed the core of the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, which opened in 1873. In its interior the Hotel reflects the good taste that surrounded loved-perhaps the rich nobility of the time: on the walls and sometimes outstanding frescoes and paintings of mythological scenes, in gold frames, festoons, temples, putti, flamingos, Pompeian red. The coffered ceilings are often painted with floral motifs in a game of gray and pink. The view of the host remains fascinated by antique tapestries, French style, antique Persian rugs, crystal chandeliers from Murano, the furniture in the Empire style, neo-classical and Liberty: and then the marble staircases, from the columns in stucco, the splendid trompe d 'oeil ....
