Being Responsible

Urbanization and unplanned development have left Jambughoda as one of the few green and beautiful forest corridors in the state of Gujarat. Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary harbors a numberof panthers, and four-horned antelopes besides other wildlife. Eminent personalities such as Dr. Salim Ali and Dr. Gunwar Oza have spent their valuable time studying the flora and fauna of the area.

Haat is a weekly market place to which the tribals from the surrounding areas bring their hand-made products such as jewellery, earthenware, rudimentary farm implements and farm produce, to sell or barter. Apart from these products, there is very active and noisy haggling over goats, fowls and bullocks. The haat continues till the last rays of the setting sun.

About the Owners

HH Maharana Vikramsinhji resides at the Palace with his family. The Jambughoda Royal Family are descendents of the Parmar Dynasty from Dhar in Madhya Pradesh. Their ancestors ruled the state till its merger with the Indian Union in 1948 for the greater good of its people and India.
