The Enviroment:
SEYCHELLES - Frégate Island
Located in the Archipelago of Seychelles, this exclusive paradise covers an area of three square kilometres. Formerly also nest in the frigate, a small seabird that the island owes its name. With its fine sandy beaches, tropical jungle and plantations of fruit trees and fields, Fregate is an ecological refuge that is home to rare plant and animal species.
Exclusivity in every respect is the motto of Frégate Island and the protection and conservation of flora and fauna unique in the world that populate the island is one of his successes. The decision to build only 16 houses limits the number of guests present at any time on the island to a maximum of 40. The island is reserved solely for guests of Fregate and is the ideal retreat for the discerning traveler, who can experience the rare feeling of being in a tropical paradise.
Being Responsible
The Frégate Island has an organic plantation where you can take cooking lessons with the chef, who prepares traditional dishes using fresh fruits and vegetables from the organic crops and greenhouse of the Island. The gardens of Fregate regularly offer their organic products to the orphanage of Mahé. From September 2008 each villa has its own "Island Buggy" working with solar energy, the only means of transport on the island to protect the environment. Continuing with the theme of sustainable energy sources and renewable, the Island will become increasingly independent, using its own resources such as coconuts that grow wild on the island and the recycling of the vegetable frying oil from the kitchens of the resort. Coconut oil and fry oil already operate a tractor and other engines, increasingly replacing traditional fuels.

The Wellness Choice
The Rock SPA dominates the Island from one of its highest peaks, enjoying a magnificent view over the Indian Ocean: it is reached by crossing a natural arch between granite rocks and large roots of banana trees. The SPA has 4 treatment rooms, where are used natural products made with herbs, fruits and vegetables that grow on the island. Yoga Pavilion is located in the quiet of the gardens, while a gym with LifeFitness equipment overlooks the path overhung by massive natural arch at the end of a canyon carved out of granite boulders. A row of giant Banyan, at the peak from which there is a 360 degree view of the island and the Indian Ocean, defines the new open-air space for fitness. The Apothecary, recently renovated, is the central laboratory where the therapists are developing oils, Auryedic herbal preparations and natural products for the different treatments derived from plants grown in hydroponic greenhouse or in the plantation.
