BRASIL - Trancoso
The Ecoresort Uxua House Hotel is located in Brazil, Trancoso, a small fishing village 800 km south of Salvador de Bahia. Its main feature, in addition to an excellent reception, is to be placed inside a park, the Quadrado, presented as a secret garden that protects a luxurious resort.
Being Responsible
The structure was created through collaboration with local artists and artisans, also using recycled materials for floors, doors and furniture. Even the houses are made of wood recovered from old farms.
How you will reside
The local tradition of hospitality and style of living has been enhanced with nine houses, all made with recycled materials, each of which can accommodate up to three people: Gulab mahal, Seu Pedrinho, Ze and zilda, Estudio, Quintal da Glória, House by Arvor, Eugenia, Seu João and Nozinho are the names of houses, colored and decorated with wood and stone. Each building has a kitchen, private garden, internet wireless and satellite TV. Some are equipped with jacuzzi, terrace and outdoor space for eating inside the park.
How you will eat
The restaurant, run by the Chef Veronica Portilho, offers Brazilian cuisine based on fresh local products.
The Uxua Praia Bar, located in a picturesque corner through the Atlantic Ocean and the river Trascoso, is the only bar in Praia da Barra and was built in part using fishing boats found abandoned on the beach.

The Uxua House Hotel offers its guests a swimming pool built using over 40,000 pieces of beautiful local green quartz, called “aventurine”, told to have beneficial powers.

About People
Wilbert Das, Diesel's creative director since 2009, has made his home in this paradise, a hotel that involves and helps the local population. "I did not want a fashionable hotel, but something to celebrate the local situation." The population of Troncoso had lots of benefits from this initiative.
